Warrior Tips

Rage
The Warrior has a red Rage bar. This is similar to a Mana bar for casters. During combat the Warrior generates Rage based both on damage done and damage taken/prevented. You may also generate Rage using specific abilities. The Rage bar continues to fill as the Warrior fights. Once the Warrior has enough Rage points, the Warrior can use different skills that require Rage. When not in active combat, the Warrior's Rage slowly fades to 0. The Warrior also loses all accumulated Rage if the Warrior switches stances, so plan ahead and avoid changing stances mid fight!

Stances
Warriors have different stances available to them which determine what abilities can be used during combat. There are special stance buttons located above your action bar to switch stances. If you switch stances during battle you lose all your Rage so keep that in mind. Typically you don't switch stances during battle. Stances are for different situations.

Battle Stance is used mainly for soloing, adding different state changing attacks and high damage moves.

Defensive Stance offers fewer types of offensive special attacks but gives the Warrior more defensive specials plus a bonus to your defense rating. This is primarily meant for acting as a group's main tank.
Berserker Stance allows for more critical strikes but the Warrior takes more damage. This is best used when the Warrior is a secondary tank in a party.
Other Information
Warrior abilities that target one or more enemies generate additional threat.
Action Bar
Each stance has its own action bar. You place abilities for that stance on that bar. When you switch stances, your action bar also switches.

Combos
Use a Shield Bash/Block, then attack with Revenge.

Training
It's very important to build up your skills in multiple weapons so you can easily switch to a different weapon if a better weapon of a different type comes along. Keep weapons of as many types as you can in your packs and continue to swap them to build up your skills.

Tips

Team up with healers (Priest, Shaman, Druid) to keep you alive.
Pick one or two of the two-handed weapon types to use.
Manage your Rage! If you are fighting a caster save some for a timely shield bash/Pummel to stop them from blasting you or healing themselves. That one extra use of Heroic Strike may have caused some extra damage but if the monster heals it's like starting all over.
Try and plan your Talents ahead of time.
Protect your group mates. A Priest or a Mage isn't meant to take the brunt of an enemy's attack. Use the Taunt ability to focus the attacks on yourself.
Profession Options
You can pick whatever you want. You might find these more tailored to the Warrior:

Mining/Blacksmithing - Make all your own equipment.
Herbalism/Alchemy - Make healing potions and potion buffs.
First Aid - You can't normally heal yourself so take this skill up to reduce downtime.
Cooking/Fishing - Catch and make food to reduce downtime after combat

Paladin Tips

Tips

Use Hammer of Justice to interrupt spell casters from using their spells. Make sure another player does not stun the monster before using Hammer of Justice (so you won't waste it).
Ask players in the party which Blessings they want (if they know the Blessings). Ask party members to tell you when the Blessings wear off.
If another Paladin joins the party, work out between you which auras and Blessings you will use.
If a monster is attacking a weak party member like a caster, stun the monster with Hammer of Justice.
Getting away (extreme)
First start running. Right before you die, use Divine Shield. Now continue to run. Cast Lay on Hands if you need it. With these abilities you can run away for quite a distance even with a lot of monsters attacking you.

Equipment
Focus on items that give stamina and defense. You can go for a sword or blunt weapon and a shield, or a two-handed sword or mace. You might want to train up all of these abilities so you can pick and choose which to use based on what weapons you have available.

Two-Handed Weapons vs. Shield and One-Handed Weapons
Both are great. A two-handed weapon is good against monsters with a lot of armor. A one-handed weapon is better against monsters you wish to interrupt and against monsters with less armor. You might want to train both up and switch between them.

Summon War Horse
Paladins can get their own custom armored Warhorse via a quest at level 40 and level 60. Paladin Epic Mount quest: To begin, talk to the paladin trainers Duthroian Rall or Brandur Ironhammer. Paladins who have completed their Epic Mount quest can repeat the final event in Scholomance for fun (and loot) by speaking with Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker.

Profession Options
You can pick whatever you want. You might find these more tailored to the Paladin:

Mining and Blacksmithing - Paladins can create their own armor. This is a popular choice with Paladins.
Mining and Engineering - Paladins can create range weapons and special engineering items.
Enchanting - Paladins can enchant their equipment to make themselves more powerful.
Herbalism and Alchemy - Paladins can create buff potions or healing potions.

Warlock Tips

Soul Shards
The Warlock requires Soul Shards for certain spells and pets. You receive a Soul Shard by using the Drain Soul spell on a monster as it is dying. A catch is that you cannot get Soul Shards from monsters that don't give you experience. So you can't go into a newbie region and kill easy monsters for Soul Shards. One Soul Shard takes up one slot in your bags, which means you don't want to carry a whole lot of them. However, you do always want to have some in your bags so you can summon your pets. When using Drain Soul the caster cannot do any other action such as move, attack, or cast another spell, or else the spell will be interrupted. If you do not stand still, the Drain Soul will not work. You will need to learn how to do this properly, which can be challenging.

A Soul Shard will be refunded to the caster any time a summoned pet despawns rather than dies.
Soul Shards do not stack. This is for balance reasons and so you won't hoard huge numbers of them.
If you find yourself without Soul Shards, you will have to get them without the use of most pets, which can be a challenge. Imps can be summoned without the use of a Soul Shard so you can use them to get your Soul Shard, and then switch to a more powerful pet.
Honorable kills generate a Soul Shard when Drain Soul and Shadowburn are used.
Warlocks will be credited a Soul Shard from their pet when they take a flight path.
Warlocks will be credited a Soul Shard from their pet when they are dead at the end of a Battleground match.
Warlocks will be credited a Soul Shard from their pet when they enter an Arena.
Soul Shard Bag
Tailors can make soul bags to hold soul shards. The smallest is a 20-slot bag, the recipe for which can be purchased in Gadgetzan. The recipe for a larger bag can be found in Scholomance, and one for an even larger bag can be found in Molten Core. In the main UI, these soul bags will display how many shards they contain. So long as the soul bags have room, any soul shards a warlock creates will automatically go into the bag.

Pets

Pets require knowledge and skill to control. Learn which pet to use based on the situation. Read up on pet management.
Pet Spells
Demon spells are available as Grimoires from the Demon Trainers in the world. Purchase the Grimoire and read it while the appropriate demon is summoned to teach it the spell.

Equipment
Choose equipment that adds to Intelligence, Spirit, and Stamina. Remember that with Drain Life, added mana means added health because you can steal Life more often.
Hate List Management
You will have to learn to balance the monster hate between you and your pet. You need to learn how to back off when the monster is attacking you so that your pet can Taunt the monsters away from you. Stop casting spells, and use whatever Taunt abilities your pet might have. Learn which spells really make monsters angry and factor that in before you use them.

Playing the Warlock
Now that you know the basics of the Warlock, you have to learn how to play the class. At the start of combat, you will likely want to cast your DOTs and tell your pet to attack the enemy. Next you will cast other spells and possibly Drain Life to bring your health back up. Then, if you want a Soul Shard, you will need to cast Drain Soul right before the monster dies.

Cast several DOTs on the monster, then cast Fear on it. As the monster runs away, hit it with direct damage spells.

Use Fear if you pull too many monsters at once. Be warned that fleeing monsters may bring friends back with them, so use Fear carefully.

Demon Trainers sell grimoires which you can buy even without the pet. You can right-click on it at any convenient time with the proper pet summoned to teach the pet the new spell. Mount
The Warlock has a quest at 40 and again at 60 for special mounts. Warlock Epic Mount quest: To begin, speak with a demon trainer in any of the capital cities: Kurgal, Martha Strain, Spackle Thornberry, or Jubahl Corpseeker.
Profession Options
You can pick whatever you want. You might find these more tailored to the Warlock:

Tailoring - Make cloth armor for the Warlock or other players to wear.
Fishing/Cooking/First Aid - Heal the Warlock.
Herbalism/Alchemy - Make cool potions for the Warlock to use.
Enchanting - Enchant your equipment and sell enchantments.

Hunter Tips

Hunters track, tame, and slay all manner of animals and beasts found in the wild. Whether they rely on bows or firearms, Hunters consider their weapons and pets to be their only true friends.

Hunters are great for pulling monsters as they are able to set traps that hinder monsters that the Hunters pull to attack. Hunters are also able to use various beast-related special abilities, take on bestial traits that allow them to do things that they could not do normally, use a wide variety of ranged attacks supplemented by a few melee abilities, and the ability to control and tame beasts.

Hunters are closely related to their pets and must remember to always keep their pet's happiness in mind. When using a pet, Hunters will notice an icon in the top left corner of their screen that depicts their pet's level of happiness. The more Hunters use their pets, the lower their pet's level of happiness will become. Hunters should always remember to feed their pets to raise their pet's level of happiness or worry about their pet abandoning them or even attacking the Hunter! Hunters are also the only class able to name their pets.

Ranged Class
The Hunter is primarily a ranged attacking class. It has melee attacks, but its damage at range far outweighs its melee capabilities.

Great Pulling Class
The Hunter also uses traps, which you lay down ahead of time and draw monsters into. Use of ranged combat, various debuffs, and traps make it a great pulling class in groups.

Stats
The Hunter cares about Agility (ranged attack power, 1/2 melee attack power), Stamina, Intelligence (for mana), Spirit, and Strength (when it can't get Agility).

Scopes
Engineers can create scopes that can be attached to your bows and guns to increase their damage output. Seek out an engineer to create one for you or buy one at the auction house.

Ammo
Always use the best ammo available. Engineers can make gun ammo so sometimes it will be good to get ammo from them instead of buying it from an NPC merchant.

Quivers & Ammo Bags
These can speed up the firing rate of your bows and guns so it's always best to use them. Search for better bags that make you fire even faster. Some quests can provide you with faster-firing bags.

Do the Hunter Dance
Hunters are most powerful when in ranged combat. You should always try to attack via range whenever possible. The Hunter is meant to run around during combat. Hunters have a minimum range when using ranged weapons that prevents them from firing their weapon (minimum range error) when the monster is in this area. When this happens, Hunters must back away from the monster in order to fire their ranged weapon again. If the monster starts attacking you, you have several methods available for backing away from it to fire your bow or gun:

Use your Pet's Taunt
Start a battle using your pet and wait a bit before attacking the monster yourself. Once the monster has built up some hate toward your pet, engage it in battle. If the monster starts to attack you instead, use your pet's taunt ability.

Wing Clip & Run
Rush in and attack a monster with a Wing Clip and then switch to Aspect of the Cheetah. Start running away from the monster for a while. Then stop, turn around, and attack. You can also fire a Concussive arrow (or bullet) to slow the monster down. Will cause damage to targets immune to immobilizing effects.

Grouping
The Hunter's goal is to stay away from the monster and shoot at it from range. When you team up with other players this becomes more difficult. When the monster decides to attack other party members it will get within your minimum range if you're standing next to the rest of the party. For that reason, it's best to stay away from other party members during combat. That way if the monster attacks them or rushes toward them, you can still continue to fire at range. Also let party members know they should never run toward you because that will also bring the monster within your minimum range. Make it clear to other group members that you're going to be slightly away from them during combat. Another thing to watch out for is other party members pulling the monster. Often it's best to use the Hunter or the Hunter's pet to pull.

Multiple Hunters
If you happen to party with multiple Hunters make sure each of you knows which Sting to use. Each Hunter can have one Sting active at a time. If you have two Hunters, that's two Stings that can be on the monster. Ask your fellow Hunter to cast one Sting while you cast the other. Both Hunters should fight away from each other so if the monster attacks one of them, the other Hunter can still fire from range.

Runners
Hunters are great at dealing with monsters that are running away. Monster flight is a major concern because fleeing monsters may call others and bring them into battle. You can simply shoot a fleeing monster or hit it with Concussive Shot to slow it down. You can also Wing Clip it before it retreats to prevent it from running away.

Shooting on the Run
The Hunter can shoot Arcane Shot while running. It can also use Hunter's Mark while on the run. If you have to chase a monster or enemy player as they are running away, keep this in mind.

PvP

  • If you are attacked by a player when you're not ready to fight them, you can shoot them with Scatter Shot, then turn on Aspect of Cheetah to run away. Make sure your pet is on passive or set to follow so that it won't interrupt the Scatter Shot. After you're backed away, you can tell your pet to attack. This will give you a better set-up for beginning the battle. You can also do this against monsters if an extra monster attacks.
Additional Information
  • 1 Agility will grant 1 ranged Attack Power.
  • Auto shot will be automatically enabled if the Hunter steps out of melee range while in combat with target.
  • There is an epic Hunter quest series in the game.
  • Hunters have a UI option Auto Attack/Auto Shot that if turned off means that the hunter will not automatically switch between ranged attack and melee attack difficulty when the range changes.
Profession Options
You can pick whatever you want. You might find these more tailored to the Hunter:
Skinning and Leatherworking - The Hunter can create leather armor for itself or to sell to others
Enchanting - The Hunter can enchant its equipment to make itself more powerful
Herbalism and Alchemy - The Hunter can create buff potions or healing potions
Fishing and Cooking - The Hunter can feed itself and his pet
Engineering - Make bullets for guns and for conversion to Thorium Arrows
